In a life with two sisters, it's more fun to mix up who's sweet and who's sassy. Let the adventures begin!

Every Day is a New Adventure!

This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

With Sugar and Spice, you know that every day is going to be an adventure, and no two days are exactly the same, but there is always much rejoicing and merriment to be had by all!

We love to play with puzzles...

...practice our soccer skills... (Lilly prefers that the goalie stands to the side, naturally.)

...Read and earn our very first Summer Reading Trophy... (So proud! So shiny!)

 ...Paint rainbows and self-portraits...

 ...Play ABC Bingo with friends...

...Cook and eat chocolate chip pancakes...

...And enjoy dinner al fresco! Oh, and make brownies from scratch... (The best brownies ever!)

...Lilly learned to write her name...

...and play for days with water marbles! (Thanks Mrs. Susan and Jayden!)

And if we ever got bored with our everyday routine, we could always put on a costume and dance away to some Pandora jams!

So much fun can make a girl tired...

Thank you God for these sweet sisters, and all of the love and laughs that they bring!

Uncle Jamie Visits!

In August, Uncle Jamie came to visit and meet Baby Evelyn. We had a funtastic visit with him... Uncle Jamie is so funny!

All dressed up for our lunch date with Uncle Jamie!

 Now for a tea party!

 Evelyn and Uncle Jamie

Uncle Jamie moved to Colorado, so he got Lilly this cool moose backpack. She loves it!

Uncle Jamie's such a special guy... We can't wait to see him again!

Two Months Old!

Believe it or not, Miss Evelyn became two months old on August 6th!

She doesn't appear to care very much for her koala friend, but she had much to smile about after her good report from Dr. Cohen! She now weighs

See? There's so much to smile about! Miss Evelyn has an incredible smile, and she loves to share it with everyone... other than her koala friend. She might prefer frog friends.

Swimming Star

This summer, Lilly was able to begin swimming lessons, too! Thanks to Poppy for that thoughtful gift! They really helped build her confidence in the water, and taught her some important skills.

Kicking her way across the pool with the "marshmallow" floatie.

Lilly made a sweet friend named Madeline. They really loved swimming lessons and their teacher, Miss Kenzie!

"I did it! I'm a super swimmer!"

One Month Old!

On July 6, Evelyn turned one month old! We have truly been blessed with this precious baby girl, and can't believe how much she's already grown!

We have a silly tradition in this family... We take a picture every month next to a stuffed animal for a whole year. That way, everyone can see how much we've grown! Lilly had a monkey friend, and Nan helped Lilly shop for Evelyn's stuffed friend, the koala!

Lilly and Daddy helped Evelyn try her first bottle. She was not impressed, to say the least!

At Evelyn's one month doctor's visit, she weighed

Ballerina Girl

Guess who's the newest ballerina on the block?

That's right- Lilly!

She started ballet lessons this summer, and just LOVES them! Thanks to Nan and Granddad for sponsoring our little prima ballerina's learning, and thanks to Grandma for the ballet gear!

And like all ballerinas, Lilly loves to watch "Angelina Ballerina," give impromptu dance performances in the living room using the music from the swing, and speak in a British accent. (Like Angelina, of course!)

Fantastic Fourth of July

Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue! This Fourth of July, Granny and Pa came to visit and meet Baby Evelyn. We loved spending time with them!

Yay for dinner at Clay's! It is one of our favorite restaurants.

The Fourth of July never looked so adorable!

We watched the Cinco Ranch parade. "It was very short," observed Lilly.

Evelyn managed to catch some zzz at the festival.

Then we had dinner at Aunt Marian and Uncle Dan's, and then fireworks at Grandma's. What a festive way to celebrate our country's independence! (The fireworks were a bit too loud, but we enjoyed our view from the car. "So beautiful! So sparkly!" remarked Lilly.)

Lilly made a splash in the pool!

And she taught Grandma and Pa how to play "Hello Kitty Bingo!" It was a very special visit for all!

Staying Cool in the Summer Sun

Y'all probably know that you can spell summer Texas weather with just three letters: H-O-T. It certainly gets toasty around here, so we tried to make our summer adventures as cool as possible! Here are just a few pictures of how we beat the heat:

We went to the Cinco Ranch Beach Club with Luke, Molly, and Mrs. Catherine! It was a sand- scooping, water-splashing good time!

Evelyn enjoyed her time in the shade, but so much relaxing can be exhausting...

Caden, his new baby brother Colby, and Mrs. Laura went with us to the mall. The big kids rode on the carousel, played on the playground, and rode on the train! The sweet babies took naps in their strollers.

We did get to have some park fun... We just had to be out early in the morning!

Lilly learned how to ride her tricycle all by herself!

"Hey, Colby, fancy seeing you here!"

"Aren't we cute? Thanks, Mrs. Laura, for my matching onesie! Pink is my favorite color!"

Don't you agree?

We had a blast and a half at the library and park with Aiden, Zeke, and Mrs. Amber.

What a super fantabulous summer with wonderful friends!
